Learn to Fall

Prevention, Protection & Recovery
Build the skills and confidence to stay steady, react when balance is lost, and recover safely if a fall occurs. This progressive 6-week program combines fall prevention strategies with practical falling and recovery techniques in a supportive, controlled environment.

Each class includes body-awareness and movement preparation activities, progressive fall-skill practice, and exercises designed to improve balance, strength, coordination, and reaction time. Participants will learn techniques to help prevent falls, reduce the risk of injury when a fall cannot be avoided, and safely get back up afterward. Skills are introduced close to the floor and gradually progress to seated, kneeling, and standing positions based on individual comfort and ability.

Suitable for all fitness levels, this program is ideal for older adults, individuals with balance concerns, those looking to improve confidence in daily movement, or anyone participating in activities where falls may occur. No previous experience is required.

Participant Requirement: Participants must be able to safely get down to the floor and return to standing independently, with the use of supports such as a chair if needed. A 15 min pre-program screening will be completed prior to the start of the program to ensure the class is scaled appropriately for each participant - this will be booked individually the first week.
