Dinos Field Hockey Camps

Calgary Dinos Field Hockey offers a number of Spring/Summer skills camp opportunities.

Field Hockey camps are designed for male and female athletes who are looking to develop and advance their skills. The camps will teach skills that you can work into your game, while also teaching advanced skills to take your game to the next level. The programs are led by current Dinos Field Hockey coaches and athletes.

Taking part in Intramural Sports is a great way to get involved in University life at UCalgary. Whether you like to participate at the competitive, or recreational level, we offer a full range of activities that will pique your interest. Participants can enjoy a fun, equitable, and safe playing environment! Meet new people, enjoy friendly competition, and learn new skills in our facilities around campus. And, who doesn’t want to challenge for the right to be an Intramural Champion!

Each semester Intramurals offers 1-2 day tournaments in various sports /activities.  Check them out!

Whether you love football or are just a person who loves sports and wants to get outdoors with some friends, check this league out. League play consists of regular season games followed by playoffs. Sign up and create a team with friends or sign up individually as a free agent and you will be placed on a team that will support you and uplift you as you compete with one another. This page provides all the information you need to get started including league structure, how to assemble a team, rules and regulations. Battle it out for a chance to take home the title of Champion.

Teams will be schedule for 5 regular season games. Open division, no gender requirements.

SPIKEBALL (Roundnet)

As crazy as it sounds, it's just as much fun. 

Roundnet is a team sport played by two teams consisting of two players each. Opposing team members line up across from each other with the Spikeball™ roundnet set in the center. A point begins when the server hits the ball off the net towards the opposing player. After the service, there are no sides or boundaries. The object of the game is to hit the ball off the net in such a way that the opposing team cannot successfully return it.

BÍOS Triathlon will again be offering a student registration this year for those interested in the swim portion of triathlon.  

Novice to experts are welcome. Triathlon is one of the most challenging sports to be involved in. Challenge yourself.

In order to participate in the triathlon swim program, there are pre requisites, see the description for more details.  All participants  will have a swim test on the first day.  Please expect up to 6 swimmers per lane.

Ultimate Frisbee is a competitive, fun, fast-paced sport! It combines running, catching and throwing a disc, and a lot of strategy. The UCalgary Active Living Ultimate program is always looking for new players to tryout for the team. All you need is a good work ethic and enthusiasm. We can teach you the rest!

Play the worlds favorite game!

Recreational soccer will feature teams is for teams who are newer to the sport, or teams that consist of a mix of experienced and inexperienced players. Teams in these divisions must have a “fun first” approach to every game as emphasis is on fun and sportsmanship. Some players may still be learning the rules of Soccer, meaning the flow of the game will not always be natural. If the majority of players are experienced and skilled, then the team should move up to a higher level if available.

There are no officials or standings in the recreational leagues, but Intramurals will have on onsite supervisor/first aid person present. 

Mixed teams are required to have a minimum of 2 players of the opposite gender on the field at all times.  For outdoor soccer the format is traditionally a 9/2 format, but can be of any variation. 

Must be 18 years of age or older or a current UCalgary student enrolled in spring/summer courses.

Intramural Sports provides different options for soccer: a competitive league, for those players looking for a more challenging game, and a recreational league, for those that want fun over competition. Mixed Teams are required to have at least 2 players of the opposite gender on the field at all times. Competitive Leagues include Team Standings & Playoffs.

All teams are required to provide their own uniform as Intramurals is trying minimize contact points between participants and staff. Your uniform can be a set of pinnies, shirts, or jerseys of the same colour.

All division descriptions are a base guideline.
A Division – Players would have intermediate to advanced skills and a firm knowledge of the rules. They would have played competitively in high school, club level or with city leagues.

B Division – Players would have intermediate skills and knowledge of the rules. They would have played in Jr. or Sr. high school or with city leagues.

C Division - Players would have basic skills and knowledge of the rules.  They would have played in Jr. high school or Sr. High.

D Division - Players are relatively new to the sport and have basic skills and knowledge of the rules. Emphasis is on fun over competition.

All teams are required to provide their own set of jersyes, light & dark. (Competitive Leagues) prefered with numbers, this can be a set of pinnies, set of same colour shirts, or jerseys.  

Must be 18 years of age or older and/or a current UCalgary student enrolled in courses.

The Department of Active Living is committed to providing sports opportunities for UCalgary students and the surrounding community that positively impact their overall recreational experience. Our UCalgary Learn to Play program will teach the basic fundamentals and rules of the sport to gain experience and understanding of each sport. We aim to have participants create friendships and bonds with others while learning and getting involved at their own pace. Learn to Play welcomes all with little to no experience at a particular sport, to learn in a group-based setting with their peers.

Each sport will have 2-3 weeks of instruction and small game play to get you ready to play on a team in the following semester. Sports included are soccer, spikeball, volleyball, basketball, and dodgeball - just to name a few.

IMS Competitive Events are open to everyone, In-person or online! UofC Student status and/or Calgary-local address are not required to participate.

Join the devoted Esports community on UCalgary campus, with regular Intramural tournaments and leagues for various games!

Intramural (Competitive) Esports is a student-led program under Active Living with the goal of building a community for gamers across campus and beyond, as well as leveraging that community to help turn UCalgary into an esports powerhouse. Active Living's transition to a remote offering has given us the perfect opportunity to realize this vision! Help us build towards maintaining our on-campus gaming lounge, sending varsity teams to compete across Canada, and offering competitive scholarships for esports athletes.

This must be completed at least a week before your event begins.
